G7 Leaders Condemn Putin For 'Re-Introducing War' To Europe

* The White House decided their next steps as Russian helicopters swooped over Kiev and tanks rolled in 

* The virtual, closed-door meeting of G7 leaders - Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States - lasted 1 hour 10 minutes 

* Biden will address nation at 1:30PM on Thursday as Western leaders announce more sanctions on Russia 

President Joe Biden joined leaders of the G7 on Thursday in condemning Vladimir Putin for his invasion of the Ukraine, saying the Russian president 're-introduced war to the European continent.'

'He has put himself on the wrong side of history,' the G7 leaders said of Putin after their Thursday morning meeting. 

The seven industrialized nations vowed to bring 'severe and coordinated economic and financial sanctions.' 

The White House has not ruled out sanctioning Putin himself.

Four Eastern European Countries Expel Russian Diplomats

Copyright RAIGO PAJULA / AFP, FILE   RFE: Bulgaria Expels 10 Russian Diplomats, Baltics Follow Suit With Another 10 Expulsions   Bulgaria is expelling 10 Russian diplomats saying they were carrying out activities deemed incompatible with their diplomatic status, a move followed up quickly by the Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.  The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on March 18 that it had given the 10 diplomats 72 hours to leave. The statement did not give a more detailed reason for the expulsions, but since Russia launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, the Russian ambassador in Sofia has repeatedly made contradictory statements about Bulgaria's position on the conflict.
