Leonardo signs 150 million euro contract to provide surveillance and protection systems for the Italian Navy’s new submarines

 Leonardo has signed a contract with Fincantieri worth approximately 150 million euro to provide equipment for the initial two U212 Near Future Submarines (NFS), the first of which is due to join the Italian Navy fleet in 2027. Two new-generation submarines for the Italian Navy

 Fincantieri, one of the world’s leading shipbuilding groups and reference operator in the naval shipbuilding industry, and OCCAR (Organisation Conjointe de Cooperation en matiere d’Armement, the international organization for joint armament cooperation) will sign the contract for the construction of 2 new-generation submarines.Such contract, in which Fincantieri will act as prime contractor, envisages an option for 2 additional units and is part of the new U212NFS (Near Future Submarine) acquisition program of the Italian Navy. Thailand to Upgrade Saab 340 AEW and Saab 340 SIGINT

  The Air Force currently operates seven aircraft in its 702 Squadron Wing 7, which are the same Saab 340 with different functions and equipment which can be categorized as. The Saab 340 AEW, equipped with Erieye radar system, is Thailand's first pre-alert aircraft. Both Saab 340 (numbers 70201 and 70203) are second-hand aircraft coded FSR-890 from the Swedish Air Force, which are supplied with supply twelve Gripen fighters some 10 years ago, making the 702 fleet one of only two fleets in ASEAN with the capability to use Airborne Early Warning or control and alert aircraft.  At the IDEX 2021, TATRA TRUCKS will present a logistics vehicle 8x8 and a special military chassis 4x4. In the first case, it will be a Tatra Force 8x8 heavy logistics truck, which is equipped with a short, armoured cabin produced by Tatra Defense Vehicle company. Vehicle is built on a unique Tatra chassis with a central backbone tube and swinging independently suspended half-axles.
