Did Russia Cancelled Its Nuclear Exercise This Week?

Russia was due to hold it annual 'Grom' nuclear drills this week, but so far has given no sign that it is preparing the drills (pictured, tests in 2019)

* Russia was expected to carry out long-awaited 'Grom' nuclear drills this week 

* Air alerts were put out over swathes of Arctic suggesting long-range missiles and potentially nuclear bombs were going to be tested 

* But so far there is no sign of drills taking place and alert areas have been silent 

* Russian professor has claimed Putin's tests are being 'disrupted' from within 

Mystery surrounds Russian nuclear tests that were expected to take this week and never materialised, amid claims they are being 'disrupted' from within. 

Moscow typically carries out large-scale atomic drills dubbed 'Grom' at this time of year and in recent days had issued a number of airspace alerts over its usual testing grounds - heavily suggesting they would be going ahead. 

But the US says it has received no alert from Moscow about any upcoming tests and there has been no official word from the Kremlin explaining their absence, with the air alerts due to expire Saturday.

WNU Editor: NATO's nuclear drills started on Monday .... NATO to kick off nuclear drills involving B-52 bombers on Monday (Reuters). As for Russia's nuclear drills and exercises. They may still occur .... U.S. Eyes Planned Russian Nuclear Exercises Amid NATO War Games (Times). 

As to reports that these exercises were sabotaged .... Vladimir Putin tried to detonate nuke but plans were 'sabotaged', insider claims (Mirror). I am very skeptical that they are true.

US-built first Saudi MMSC frigate HMS Saud launched at Fincantieri’s shipyard

According to information published by the Saudi Ministry of Defense on December 18, 2025, the first Multi-Mission Surface Combatant frigate constructed in the United States for the Royal Saudi Navy has been officially launched at Fincantieri Marinette Marine’s shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin. The ship, designated HMS Saud with pennant number 820 and also known as Jalalat Al-Malik Saud in honor of King Saud, is the lead vessel in a four-ship program ordered under Project Tuwaiq through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales framework, a deal that defense officials have repeatedly described as a cornerstone of bilateral naval cooperation. Hellfire and JAGM Missiles Confirm Their Key Role in US Strike Power with New Contract

According to an announcement from the United States Department of Defense, Lockheed Martin has received a contract modification valued at $720 million for the fourth year of production of the Hellfire and Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) systems. This award brings the total value of the agreement to approximately $1.49 billion. Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Ocala, Florida, with completion expected by September 30, 2028. The program is managed by the Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and is funded through the fiscal year 2025 missile procurement budget.
