US Vice President Harris Takes A Swipe At President Biden For Declaring Independence From COVID On July 4. Says 'We Have Not Been Victorious Over It'

Kamala Harris is seen on Friday speaking to The Los Angeles Times in her Washington DC office

Daily Mail: 'We have not been victorious over it': Kamala takes a swipe at Joe for declaring independence from COVID on July 4 – and blames scientists for failing to see Omicron or Delta coming

* Kamala Harris on Friday spoke to The Los Angeles Times and discussed the new surge of Covid-19 infections

* She said that the US government had been taken by surprise by the emergence of both Delta and Omicron

* Harris said that they were unsighted because 'most scientists - upon whose advice and direction we have relied - didn't see Delta coming'

* Also on Friday Harris appeared on Charlamagne Tha God's show on Comedy Central, which became heated after the radio host asked her: 'So who's the real president of this country? Is it Joe Manchin or Joe Biden?'

 * The vice president seemed to blame scientists, and yet other countries were feeling the effects of Delta and Omicron before the US began to act

* Scientists have always explained that coronavirus is mutating constantly, and new variants are always likely

* Of the five Covid-19 variants designated 'variants of concern' by the World Health Organization (WHO), three were identified before Biden took over

Kamala Harris on Friday took a swipe at Joe Biden for declaring 'independence' from Covid on July 4 - and appeared to blame scientists for the administration's failure to be better prepared for Omicron and Delta as the new strains threaten to send the country spiraling back to pandemic shutdowns.

Harris, in an interview with The Los Angeles Times, said: 'We have not been victorious over it.

'I don't think that in any regard anyone can claim victory when, you know, there are 800,000 people who are dead because of this virus.'

'We were be prepared': White House goes into damage control mode after Kamala Harris admitted Biden administration was NOT prepared for Omicron variant sweeping the nation (Daily Mail).

As to what is my take on her remarks. Vice President Harris is right.

But that is not the big story. The big story is that she knows (or feels very confident) that her swipe at President Biden on his July 4th claim of victory over covid will result in no blow-back from him or his aides. That in itself is very telling because in any other administration the President and his top aides would be reading the "riot act" to the Vice President for making him look bad.
