U.S. Army Seeks to Stop Advanced Ballistic Missiles With Longer-Range PAC-3 Edge Patriot Interceptor

 Lockheed Martin is developing the PAC-3 Edge, a next-generation Patriot interceptor designed to help the U.S. Army defeat advanced ballistic and hypersonic missile threats at greater distances and higher altitudes. The new missile comes as U.S. interceptor inventories face growing pressure from military operations and allied demand, raising the challenge of improving missile defense capabilities while producing enough weapons to sustain prolonged conflicts.
