According to information published by the Bulgarian National Radio on August 7, 2025, the production of the first Stryker 8x8 armored combat vehicles for the Bulgarian Land Forces has officially commenced in the United States and is proceeding in line with the contractual timeline. This key development was confirmed by Brigadier General Stoyan Shopov, Chief of Staff of the Bulgarian Land Forces, in an interview with the Bulgarian Army newspaper. The procurement, governed by a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement signed in 2023, covers 183 Stryker vehicles across multiple combat and support configurations, alongside 15 additional auxiliary support platforms.
