Exclusive Analysis: Recent Russian T-90M eliminated by Ukrainian FPV drone revealing NATO tank defense weakness.

The Ukrainian army’s 429th separate regiment of unmanned systems, known as “Achilles,” has demonstrated once again how low-cost FPV kamikaze drones are reshaping the balance of power on the modern battlefield. In recent operations, Ukrainian operators used first-person-view drones to strike and immobilize the Russian T-90M “Proryv” or “Breakthrough” tank, currently the most advanced and expensive main battle tank in the Russian arsenal. Despite its advanced armor protection and countermeasures, the $4.5 million vehicle proved highly vulnerable to swarms of drones that cost only a fraction of that price. General Dynamics Bath Iron Works has started construction of the future USS J. William Middendorf (DDG 138), a Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer that will strengthen the U.S. Navy’s missile-defense and escort capacity during sustained operations in the Red Sea, Eastern Mediterranean, and Indo-Pacific.
