Washington Post: Mixed signals from Ukraine’s president and his aides leave West confused about his end game

The mounting death toll in Ukraine has forced President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider concessions to Russia in order to bring an end to the devastating conflict, but the specific elements of any peace deal his government may be discussing with Moscow remain a mystery to Western leaders, said U.S. and European officials.

The secretive rounds of meetings between Russian and Ukrainian negotiators could hold the key to ending the conflict but also carry broader implications for European security depending on how the warring parties settle their differences. WNU Editor: Two weeks ago Israeli PM Bennett advised Ukraine President Zelensky to immediately sue for peace with Putin, and to concede to his demands. This is probably why the West is surprised by the mixed signals that are coming from the Ukraine President who is now looking for a way to end this war. My gut tells me that Zelensky has gamed this out, and he realizes that Putin is determined to get what he wants regardless of the cost, and he has the resources to do it.

And as for the West. Aside from shipping weapons, the West is not going to get directly involved in a conflict with Russia. For all intent and purposes. Zelensky and the people of Ukraine are on their own, and Zelensky knows it.
