On March 28, 2025, U.S. Congressman William Timmons announced the delivery of the first F-16V fighter jet to Taiwan via his official X account, marking a key moment in U.S.-Taiwan defense cooperation. That same day, Taiwan's Vice Defense Minister Po Horng-huei attended the official delivery ceremony at Lockheed Martin’s facility in Greenville, South Carolina. The event marked a significant milestone in Taiwan’s ongoing effort to modernize its air defense capabilities. The newly delivered F-16C/D Block 70, also known as the F-16V, is the first of 66 jets being acquired under a multi-billion-dollar arms package approved in 2019 during the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.
