US Director of National Intelligence Says President Putin Is Preparing For A Prolonged Conflict In Ukraine

 

Daily Mail: Putin has military ambitions beyond the Donbas with sights set on Moldova and is preparing for a 'prolonged conflict' in Ukraine, Biden's top spy chief warns 

* Vladimir Putin is preparing for a 'prolonged' war in the Ukraine, President Joe Biden's spy chief warned 

* U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines warned the fighting will grow worse and that Putin will expand his reach beyond the Donbas region 

* 'We are not confident that the fight in the Donbas will effectively end the war,' Haines said 

* 'We assess President Putin is preparing for prolonged conflict in Ukraine during which he still intends to achieve goals beyond the Donbas' 

* She and Lt. General Scott Berrier, the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency Directory, testified before Senate Armed Services Committee 

Vladimir Putin is preparing for a 'prolonged' war in the Ukraine, President Joe Biden's spy chief warned on Tuesday, and he will grow more 'unpredictable' and 'escalatory' in his invasion. 

U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines warned the fighting will grow worse and that Putin will expand his reach beyond the Donbas region in southeast Ukraine. 

His targets could include neighboring Moldova, which is mostly encircled by Ukraine and, in its east, has Transnistria, a breakaway region controlled by pro-Russian separatists with the help of around 1,500 Russian troops.

US-built first Saudi MMSC frigate HMS Saud launched at Fincantieri’s shipyard

According to information published by the Saudi Ministry of Defense on December 18, 2025, the first Multi-Mission Surface Combatant frigate constructed in the United States for the Royal Saudi Navy has been officially launched at Fincantieri Marinette Marine’s shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin. The ship, designated HMS Saud with pennant number 820 and also known as Jalalat Al-Malik Saud in honor of King Saud, is the lead vessel in a four-ship program ordered under Project Tuwaiq through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales framework, a deal that defense officials have repeatedly described as a cornerstone of bilateral naval cooperation.
