UK’s F-35 Fighter Jet Praised but Faces Capability and Readiness Gaps for Full Combat Readiness.

The United Kingdom’s F-35B Lightning II, hailed as the most advanced combat aircraft in British service, continues to face serious operational shortfalls despite its cutting-edge technology, according to a new report from the UK Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee released on October 31, 2025. Lawmakers praised the program’s technological achievements but cited continuing deficiencies in maintenance capacity, mission system integration, and trained personnel.
