1) What details have been confirmed?

WNU Editor: Russian President Putin has so far been silent on Prigozhin's death. All that we know is Putin urgently returned from Kursk to Moscow after it became known that Prigozhin was killed in the plane crash.

The Kremlin has been silent, but Russian state media is calling this an assassination, and they are blaming Kyiv for the killing.

Russian social media is all over the place on who killed Prigozhin, but almost everyone is in agreement that this is a huge loss for Russia and that it will impact Russia's war effort in Ukraine.

As to what is my take. Prigozhin had a lot of enemies. He was also a priority target for Ukraine. But my gut is telling me that like the assassination of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov in 2015 (link here), someone close and loyal to Putin decided to act unilaterally without Putin's direct order or knowledge.

I could be wrong, and that is why the next few days are going to unteresting to watch. If this was a Ukrainian operation, expect a massive Russian military response in the coming days.
