A Visit To The Ukraine Frontlines

WNU Editor: No surprises from Franz-Stefan Gady in the above post. He basically goes to Ukraine to see the front-lines and is given one by the Ukraine military and his Ukraine hosts. And even though this "tour" was tightly controlled by the Ukraine government and military to give the best possible light on the war, they were still certain things that could not be hidden. Things like old men on the front-lines. Ukraine is conducting direct assaults, not probing attacks. Russia has yet to commit its reserves.

But the best part of his thread was at the end, where this explanation on why Ukraine was not achieving its counteroffensive goals was made .... 

.... But soldiers fighting on the frontline we spoke to are all too aware that lack of progress is often more due to force employment, poor tactics, lack of coordination btw. units, bureaucratic red tape/infighting, Soviet style thinking etc. & ...Russians putting up stiff resistance.

Bath Iron Works starts building new Arleigh Burke-class Flight III destroyer USS J. William Middendorf

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works has started construction of the future USS J. William Middendorf (DDG 138), a Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer that will strengthen the U.S. Navy’s missile-defense and escort capacity during sustained operations in the Red Sea, Eastern Mediterranean, and Indo-Pacific.
