Turkish Air Force continues to expand national T-70 helicopter fleet despite US policy barriers

On September 3, 2025, the Turkish Ministry of National Defence announced that the fourth T-70 utility helicopter was formally inducted into the Turkish Air Force during a ceremony at the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya. The announcement indicated that the helicopter will be assigned to multipurpose missions such as search and rescue, wildfire response, and cargo or personnel transport. This handover follows earlier deliveries, including the Air Force’s third T-70 received in August 2024, and continues a sequence of staged acceptances that began in December 2022 with the first delivery to the Gendarmerie General Command.
