Biographer Says Elon Musk Shut Down The Starlink Over Crimea To Prevent A Ukrainian Drone Attack

 Daily Mail: Elon Musk secretly ordered Starlink engineers to TURN OFF satellite communications to disrupt Ukrainian sneak attack on Russian naval fleet, new biography claims 

* Walter Isaacson's much-anticipated biography of Elon Musk will be published on September 12 

* Musk, who began supplying his Starlink internet systems to Ukraine in February 2022, told Isaacson that he was increasingly uncomfortable with their use 

* Musk said he was nervous about the use of Starlink technology by Ukrainian commanders to plot attacks on Russia, and feared a nuclear war 

Elon Musk ordered engineers working at his Starlink internet company to cut off the service over the Crimean coast to prevent an attack on a Russian warship, according to a new book. 

The world's richest man began providing free access to his Starlink internet terminals in the early days of the Russian invasion in February 2022, and his generosity has been vital in allowing Ukrainians to communicate and coordinate resistance. 

But, at the end of last year, his enthusiasm began to wane, and he became increasingly concerned about taking sides - ultimately ordering that the internet be shut down to stop a 'kamikaze drone' submarine attack on Russian warships.

Four Eastern European Countries Expel Russian Diplomats

Copyright RAIGO PAJULA / AFP, FILE   RFE: Bulgaria Expels 10 Russian Diplomats, Baltics Follow Suit With Another 10 Expulsions   Bulgaria is expelling 10 Russian diplomats saying they were carrying out activities deemed incompatible with their diplomatic status, a move followed up quickly by the Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.  The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on March 18 that it had given the 10 diplomats 72 hours to leave. The statement did not give a more detailed reason for the expulsions, but since Russia launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, the Russian ambassador in Sofia has repeatedly made contradictory statements about Bulgaria's position on the conflict.
