Putin - currently 'self-isolating' due to a Covid-19 'outbreak' in his entourage - is seen with his loyal defence minister Sergei Shoigu

* Vladimir Putin went on a 72-hour camping trip with his loyal Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu this month 

* The strongman is seen hunting and fishing in the taiga amid rumours about the president's health 

* The photos were released as he continues self-isolation after a member of his entourage contracted Covid 

The Kremlin has issued new photos of 'macho' Vladimir Putin fishing and hunting in the wilds of Siberia during a camping trip with his loyal defence minister. 

The Russian leader, 69 next month, is currently self-isolating due to a Covid-19 outbreak in his entourage and the photos were taken during the trip to the taiga earlier this month. 

It has led to suggestions that the strongman, who is facing health rumours, could be lining up minister Sergey Shoigu as his successor.

As to the rumors that President Putin is favoring Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to replace him. Not going to happen. Shoigu has been linked to a number of corruption cases that has left a sour taste in many Russians. This blogger included.

US-built first Saudi MMSC frigate HMS Saud launched at Fincantieri’s shipyard

According to information published by the Saudi Ministry of Defense on December 18, 2025, the first Multi-Mission Surface Combatant frigate constructed in the United States for the Royal Saudi Navy has been officially launched at Fincantieri Marinette Marine’s shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin. The ship, designated HMS Saud with pennant number 820 and also known as Jalalat Al-Malik Saud in honor of King Saud, is the lead vessel in a four-ship program ordered under Project Tuwaiq through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales framework, a deal that defense officials have repeatedly described as a cornerstone of bilateral naval cooperation.
